Abstract (English): In this paper a new test system is design to study the far field diffraction characteristics of slab air optical waveguide. Two pieces of reflectors with high reflection film on the inner surface are used to form the slab air waveguide,the He-Ne laser is focused by a lens at the entrance of the slab air optical waveguide,and a camera is used to record the diffraction pattern on the screen behind the waveguide exit. The focused laser beam waist width and location are measured by knife-edge method,and the waveguide thickness is scaled by image processing method. These measurements provide not only guidance for parameters setting of numerical simulation of slab air waveguide far field diffraction characteristics based on diffraction theory in frequency,but also experimental results to verify the correctness of simulation results. The comparisons show that the experiment results obtained using this test system are consistent with the simulation results therefore,the correctness of this numerical calculation method is confirmed,and the validity of this test system is shown. Abstract (Chinese): 为了对平板光波导的远场衍射特性进行数值模拟和实验研究,设计了一个平板空气光波导远场衍射特性测试系统。系统采用两片表面镀高反膜的反射镜平行放置构成平板空气光波导,He-Ne激光经透镜聚焦在波导入口,照相机记录波导的衍射图样。应用刀口法测量了系统激光聚焦光斑束腰宽度和位置,通过图像处理定标波导厚度,为基于频域衍射理论的平板空气光波导远场衍射特性数值模拟提供了参数设置依据和实验结果对照。实验发现,基于频域衍射理论的数值模拟所得平板空气光波导远场衍射特性与本测试系统所测得的实验结果符合较好,从而验证了该数值模拟方法的正确性。 [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
